Moon Knight has always been a tough character for Marvel to know how to write, but this omnibus collects his first appearances and team-ups, giving us the incredible beginnings of this awesome character. He was first brought in as an antagonist for Werewolf by Night, but soon got his own solo stories as back-ups to Hulk magazines and then became a regular in team-up books before getting his own series. When Marvel had a good writer for him, he was incredible. Collected here is not only his first appearances in Werewolf and others, but the complete back-up story from the old Rampaging Hulk magazines that gave us our first look at how dark the character could be (and really upped that Batman feel they were trying to go for). We also get the first few issues of his first solo series, when Marvel was truly getting a feel for the character. Of course, he really shines in team-ups and there is no shortage of them here with him appearing alongside Spider-Man, the Thing, Daredevil, and the Defenders. This collection is a solid one of great Moon Knight stories. If you love the character, you will absolutely enjoy this look at who he was before the rotating writers collection from today got to him and kept trying to make him crazier and crazier. He's still got some issues in here, but it doesn't overshadow the stories inside.
